After his great performance at the European Championships in Wackersdorf, Maxim Rehm travelled accordingly motivated to the third round of the German Junior Kart Championship at the same place. In alternating weather conditions, the driver from Blaubeuren fought for the victories and ended up in the cup ranks twice.

The youngster went into the weekend of the highest German kart predicate in high spirits. After the season started directly with two races in Kerpen, the 1,197 meter long Prokart Raceland in Wackersdorf in Upper Palatinate is now waiting. He has proven several times that he feels comfortable on the track and finishes qualifying in excellent fourth place.
The driver from the Tony Kart factory team continued with his strong form in the heats. He finished second each time, but a spoiler penalty in the first heat threw him back a bit. Nevertheless, the 13-year-old remained in the top five and still had every chance of success in the final races on Sunday.
These began Sunday morning with a dry track. Maxim started from the third row and improved quickly. The pilot, who was applied for by Rehm Racing, partly led the race, but failed to distance himself from his pursuers. They were right behind him and he ended the race in fourth place.
The second final was similar: in sunshine Maxim again showed his strong pace and proved that he can win in the DJKM. He led the race again, but was again slowed down due to overtaking maneuvers by his opponents. In the end, he finished third on the podium and collected important points for the championship, in which he finished fifth.
"We had to win the pace in rain and dry conditions. I was able to lead both races, but the wind shadow in Wackersdorf allowed my opponents to stay on top of me. Then I briefly lost momentum and couldn't convert the pace into the win. Nevertheless, this weekend at the DJKM was the best for me this year and I not only collected two trophies, but also important points for the championship", Maxim summed up his weekend with satisfaction.
After the race marathon of the last few weeks, the young racer can now take a deep breath and prepare as best as possible for the final of the German Championship in Oschersleben. The final decisions will be made there from October 16th to 18th. Immediately afterwards, the season highlight with the Kart World Championship in Portugal will be waiting for Maxim.
