Top ten at COTF for Maxim Rehm

Only a few days after the European Kart Championship, Maxim Rehm was back in his LN kart. This time the Champions of the Future Euro Series was hosted in Zuera, Spain. In best conditions, the OK rookie showed a great performance and finished the race on Sunday in ninth place in the top ten.

Already during the European Kart Championships in Portugal, Maxim Rehm showed a significant increase and he now continued this in Spain. The second round of the Champions of the Future Euro Series took place on the 1,700-meter-long track in Zuera – which was also a dress rehearsal for the European Championships in two weeks at the same place.

With grid position 23, Maxim already had a good starting position after qualifying, although he was not completely satisfied: "In my fastest lap there was a problem on the track, which caused me to lose important time."

However, the heats were promising for the 14-year-old. He finished all five of his races in the top ten and finished as a great third in the last round, making a leap to twelfth place in the intermediate standings and sixth on the grid for the Super Heat.

Here, however, he experienced a small setback: Maxim was the victim of a collision and lost numerous positions as a result. He was 15th in the intermediate standings and then fought his way up to ninth place in the subsequent final. In addition to other championship points, he impressed with a high level of consistency and drove the fifth fastest race lap.

"I am quite satisfied and am pleased that we are continuing to improve. Now it has to run smoothly in qualifying, then it will be easier in the heats and we can fight for the podium. A big thank you goes again to my whole team Ricky Flynn Motorsport, as well as Joseph Reilly, Nico Monien and Scott Chaney for their support during the weekend", Maxim said.

After the race marathon of the past weeks, the German can now breathe a few days before returning to Zuera at the end of April for the second race of the FIA Kart European Championship.
